We are back!

Good Morning,

I am looking forward to seeing you all.  In this difficult time, we all need to hold those near to us close and hug them often.  It was a very long week for many.  Please take the time to be grateful for all that you have in your life.

4/22 Monday – Discuss theme ideas for notebooks, view sample, vote on three

HW: Read or review intro. notes & chapters 1-5, pp. 1-50


4/23 Tuesday –Quick quiz; assemble theme notebooks; class discussion / foursquares chs. 3-5

HW: Read chapters 6&7, pp.50-63 & complete reading questions OR a foursquare on ONE chapter; PLEASE bring independent reading book choices to class


4/24 Wednesday- HALF DAY – reading calendar & SSR

HW: Theme notebook choice & two of the four entries


4/25 Thursday – Class discussion concentrating on themes; short paper assigned due Thurs, 5/2

HW: Read chapters 8-9, pp. 63-89; prepare yourself for graded class discussion as best suits you: sticky notes, chapter questions or a foursquare


4/26 Friday – Graded class discussion

HW: Complete first “page” of theme notebook (three from the book & one modern connection)

Read independent reading book over the weekend (refer to your calendar) – come in with an interesting quote for discussion marked in the book

HW: Find one modern connection to your theme; bring materials to class for notebook completion
