Good Morning,
It has been a busy week thus far. Inquiring minds want to know what has happened to the month of September? It quite literally flew by, didn't it?
I had a blast at Camp Clark and sincerely hope I did not embarass my team too much by completing the challenges with them. I just can not sit back and watch when others are having fun.
I was absent yesterday due to Yom Kippur so today will be a little bit of a catch up day. Students in periods C, E and F all completed their first vocabulary quiz. We are progressing forward with our discussions and notes on Of Mice and Men. Students in C & F should have completed reading chapter 4, and students in E should have finished chapter three yesterday. All three classes will be editing and revising one of the three short writes for a final copy next week.
Our study of The Pearl in D is also moving right along. Today, we will complete discussion of Chapter Two and step back to look at student generated topics of interest for Chapters 3 &4. Next week will bring a revision of one quick write rough draft to a final copy and a vocabulary quiz. Students should start thinking about a parable topic for the more formal writing assignment of The Pearl unit.
