Good Morning,
All is well and quiet at Plymouth South this morning. It is wonderful to be back after our pre-break vacation; I cannot wait to collect your masterpieces that you had SO much extra time to proofread and perfect! This fast week will lend us the time to complete Act II of Romeo and Juliet. Today's shortened class works well for a quick in class essay. Tomorrow will be nose to the grindstone to learn the details of Romeo and Juliet's wedding plans. We must discuss why, oh why they would RUSH so quickly into marriage after a grand total of ___________ hours acquantaince. If you know the answer to how long the love stricken couple has known each other before they marry, please tell me in class for extra credit!
Over break students should find one modern example of the themes within Romeo and Juliet and bring it in for Monday's discussion. As a reminder, we have focused upon the ideas of feuds, decision making, love and family. Your example may be song lyrics, a newspaper or magazine article or a one page handwritten explanation of the connection (ie. summary of a commercial, television show or modern movie). This assignment counts double as a homework grade and an in class discussion grade. PLEASE get it done early and put it in your backpack :)
Smile often and take care,
Mrs. Weston
